Job Title: Occupational Therapist

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Occupational Therapist to join our team at Ontario Grove Healthcare & Wellness Centre. As an Occupational Therapist, you will play a vital role in helping our patients achieve their goals and regain independence in their daily lives.

Job Summary:

The Occupational Therapist will be responsible for providing direct patient care and support activities that promote the outstanding outcomes of our therapy department. This includes evaluating and treating patients, communicating with families, physicians, and other health team members, and documenting services in the medical record.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Evaluate and treat patients to restore and enhance their independent function
  • Communicate effectively with families, physicians, and other health team members
  • Document services in the medical record
  • Contribute to the professional development of self and others
  • Enhance the interdisciplinary team through professional skills and knowledge
  • Demonstrate safe working practices
Requirements:
  • Current Occupational Therapist State Licensure as required
  • Current CPR certification
  • Experience in geriatric rehabilitation preferred
  • Experience in adult neurological, cardiac, and/or general rehabilitation is preferred
Physical Requirements:

The Occupational Therapist will spend approximately 60-80% of their time bending, stooping, kneeling, and reaching while working with occupational therapy patients. They will also spend approximately 60-80% of their time walking/standing.

The Occupational Therapist may spend approximately 10-20% of their time sitting at a desk or terminal entering data.

The Occupational Therapist must be able to lift and transfer patients to and from all surfaces a minimum of 10 times per day. They must also be able to lift approximately 50-70 pounds a minimum of 10 times per day.
