Job Title: Occupational Therapist

Spectrum Health Care is seeking a skilled Occupational Therapist to join our team. As an Occupational Therapist, you will play a vital role in helping patients overcome physical, cognitive, and emotional barriers to maximize their independence and engagement in daily activities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct comprehensive patient assessments to evaluate patients' physical, cognitive, and psychosocial abilities, as well as identify barriers to functional performance.
  • Develop and implement individualized patient care plans, with direct participation from the patient and family.
  • Provide guidance and training on adaptive equipment, assistive devices, and environmental modifications to enhance patient independence and safety.
  • Monitor patients' progress by reassessing functional abilities and adjust treatment plans as needed to facilitate optimal outcomes.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including physicians, nurse practitioners, nurses, personal support workers, social workers, speech therapists, and physiotherapists.
Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in Occupational Therapy
  • Registration with the College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario
  • Minimum 3 years of experience working as an Occupational Therapist
  • Experience working in a community setting is an asset
  • Valid Ontario driver's license and a reliable vehicle
  • Knowledge and experience working with a diverse patient population, including frail seniors and patients with multiple comorbidities
  • Proficiency in conducting assessments, interpreting findings, and formulating evidence-based treatment plans
  • Familiarity with assistive devices, adaptive equipment, and environmental modifications
  • Proficiency in computer software programs (e.g., Microsoft Office) and virtual communication platforms (e.g., Microsoft Teams, Zoom, Go To Meeting)
