Overview:

We are seeking a dedicated Legionella Quality & Compliance Manager to lead and ensure the adherence to quality standards and service excellence within our growing legionella division across the UK. This position requires close cooperation with operational management and administrative teams to facilitate efficient processes and achieve departmental objectives. The successful candidate will have a robust technical background in legionella risk assessment and management, complemented by significant practical experience in the field. Responsibilities include overseeing legionella operations, guiding teams of assessors and engineers, and maintaining our LCA accreditation through regular evaluations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Direct and support the legionella services teams nationwide.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and uphold industry standards.
  • Work alongside operational management to optimize daily functions and foster innovation.
  • Assist in the preparation of quotes and tender submissions for the sales team.
  • Promote the digital transformation of surveying services.

Performance Metrics:

  • Review a minimum of two legionella risk assessment reports per surveyor monthly.
  • Conduct quarterly evaluations of each surveyor's performance.
  • Respond to microbiological concerns within 24 hours.
  • Achieve 100% completion of scheduled tasks weekly within budgetary constraints.

Specific Duties:

  • Represent the organization professionally in the marketplace.
  • Stay updated on current water hygiene regulations and inform the organization of pertinent changes.
  • Provide technical support and expertise within the organization.
  • Manage the field-based legionella delivery team, ensuring adherence to performance indicators and high standards.
  • Travel as necessary to support field personnel and operational requirements.
  • Oversee significant legionella projects, ensuring timely and budget-compliant execution.
  • Maintain high levels of staff morale, motivation, and discipline.
  • Identify and communicate sales opportunities from client interactions.
  • Supervise the onboarding and auditing of subcontractors.
  • Deliver legionella services as required, focusing on risk assessments, written schemes, and training.
  • Conduct regular audits of service reports, field personnel, and subcontractors.
  • Assist in the recruitment and training of external field staff.
  • Analyze field productivity and contribute to planning enhancements.
  • Engage in strategic initiatives to meet organizational goals.
  • Communicate and implement business strategies with external teams.
  • Mentor surveyors and conduct annual evaluations and disciplinary actions.
  • Support the sales team with tender-related quotations.
  • Prepare method statements and risk assessments for all legionella services.
  • Ensure the functionality and calibration of necessary equipment.
  • Collaborate with the Warehouse Supervisor to maintain equipment in a serviceable condition.
  • Assist in keeping COSHH data current.
  • Engage with client/site personnel to resolve compliance issues.
  • Promptly report any on-site progress issues to the office.
  • Develop digital compliance systems to improve productivity and efficiency.
  • Prepare for industry-leading audit requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with company procedures and the Code of Conduct.
