The 360°kids YOUTHrive program provides wraparound support to youth in social housing communities across York Region. As a Youth Worker, you will play a vital role in mentoring and supporting these young individuals through informal counseling services, job search assistance, homework and post-secondary support, and basic life skills.

Key Responsibilities
  • Day-to-day program organization and operation at assigned sites, including on-site supervision of program staff, participants, and volunteers.
  • Coordinate and develop life skills programming for youth, including weekly, biweekly, and monthly activities.
  • Monitor youth on-site, adhering to 360°kids policies and procedures.
  • Provide one-on-one counseling and act as a positive role model for youth.
  • Advocate for clients, engaging in problem-solving to address their needs.
  • Supervise program setup and takedown, ensuring facilities are left clean and tidy.
  • Collaborate with the Program Administrator/Team Lead to achieve program goals and objectives.
  • Resolve conflict situations, including client complaints and disputes.
  • Facilitate community partnerships and build capacity with key stakeholders.
  • Connect with staff from other programs and community agencies to provide program information.
  • Report issues and concerns to the Team Lead, and follow 360°kids policies and procedures.
  • Complete mandatory recording and reporting, including daily documentation and statistical data collection.
  • Assume responsibilities for gift card expenditures, balancing, budgeting, and documentation.
  • Participate in regular supervision meetings and performance appraisal meetings.
  • Attend training workshops and conferences relevant to the role.
  • Liaise with participants, parents, community partners, agencies, donors, coworkers, and volunteers.
Qualifications and Skills
  • Post-Secondary degree/diploma in a child/youth-related field or equivalent combination of education and experience working with youth.
  • Minimum one year's experience working with at-risk youth and/or street-involved people.
  • Strong personal ethics and integrity, exceptional interpersonal skills, and sound judgment, decision-making, and problem-solving ability.
  • Case management skills, including record keeping, client service, and team approach.
  • Ability to work effectively in a dynamic environment, organize time and workload, and maintain effective working relationships.
  • Experience with MS Office, ability to prepare and write reports, and maintain same.
  • Current First Aid/CPR certification and vulnerable sector screening (criminal background check) are mandatory.
