Job Summary:

The Salvation Army is seeking a skilled and compassionate Program Services Caseworker to join our team at Sutton Youth Shelter. As a key member of our residential facility team, you will play a vital role in supporting clients and ensuring the smooth operation of our day-to-day activities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain an active caseload and provide primary support casework to clients.
  • Responsible for client admissions and intake processing, case triaging, and referral and clerical duties.
  • Develop and implement service plans, provide case management services, and clinical interventions for assigned clients.
  • Record activities and incidents occurring during shifts in a factual and concise manner using Logbook and/or Incident Occurrence Reports.
  • Collaborate with emergency service personnel when necessary and maintain confidentiality with regard to clients and staff.
  • Develop a network and make referrals to existing services and resources in the community.
  • Perform administrative tasks, including reporting monthly performance statistics and completing daily front-line worker responsibility logs and bed board charts.

Requirements:

  • College diploma or equivalent post-secondary education.
  • Valid Ontario Class "G" Driver's License and a current copy of a Driver's abstract.
  • Experience working with homelessness, mental health, and related issues.
  • Thorough knowledge and understanding of anti-racism, anti-oppression, and equity principles.
  • Good knowledge of community resources and ability to develop an understanding and support for the mission and purpose of The Salvation Army in Canada.

Working Conditions:

  • This is a permanent full-time position.
  • Shift schedules may vary.
  • Minimal travel required.
