We are currently seeking full-time Tax Managers for our Burlington and Hamilton offices.

In this role, you will report to Partners and Senior Managers and be tasked with:

  • Conducting final reviews of tax compliance, including tax returns for individuals, corporations, trusts, and partnerships, along with associated foreign reporting obligations;
  • Leading and managing tax planning projects and preparing detailed technical tax memoranda;
  • Reviewing instructional documents for corporate reorganizations, estate and post-mortem tax strategies, business succession planning, and business transactions;
  • Performing tax research and analyzing tax legislation and proposed changes to provide proactive solutions to clients and senior management;
  • Identifying significant issues or findings and presenting recommendations for resolution to Senior Managers or Tax Partners, collaborating with Assurance Partners as necessary;
  • Delegating tasks appropriately and ensuring their completion aligns with firm quality and client service standards;
  • Engaging with the Canada Revenue Agency and provincial ministries regarding client-related matters;
  • Serving as a technical resource within the firm and actively mentoring and developing junior staff;
  • Participating in client meetings to discuss timelines, technical matters, and recommendations;
  • Proactively managing billing and recoverability on tax-related engagements.

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A minimum of five (5) years of experience in public accounting, with at least two (2) years focused on taxation
  • Canadian Chartered Professional Accountant Designation (CPA, CA)
  • A willingness to enroll in or current enrollment in the CPA In-Depth Tax Course, or successful completion of the MTax program
  • A comprehensive understanding of Canadian income taxation, with tax planning experience considered an asset
  • A strong desire for continuous learning and gaining experience across a wide range of tax concepts
