Position Overview:
We are looking for a dedicated professional to join our team as a Senior Policyholder Tax Analyst at Co-operators. This role is crucial in assisting both our internal and external clients with various aspects of policyholder taxation within the Individual Insurance and Wealth Management division.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct analysis, planning, and oversight of work to guarantee timely and high-quality deliverables.
- Serve as a primary point of contact for resolving complex issues.
- Mentor team members and contribute to training and development initiatives.
- Oversee the preparation and distribution of tax documents and filings with the CRA.
- Interpret and communicate pertinent legislation to stakeholders effectively.
- Collaborate with the Project Delivery Team to execute tax-related modifications.
- Evaluate system processes to uncover efficiencies.
- Manage internal audit requests and address audit-related concerns.
- 6-9 years of experience in individual insurance or wealth management sectors.
- Post-secondary education in Business Administration, Accounting, or a related discipline.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
- In-depth knowledge of tax legislation and accounting standards.
- Background check required.
