Position Overview:

We are seeking a dedicated Environmental Services Manager to oversee our Environmental Services team. This position is crucial for ensuring the effective operation, maintenance, and aesthetic quality of our retirement community's surroundings, furnishings, and equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise general upkeep of the community, including preventive maintenance, scheduled repairs, and unexpected tasks. Responsibilities may include painting communal areas, performing minor plumbing and electrical repairs, and managing housekeeping duties.
  • Oversee all housekeeping operations, including the scheduling of routines and the procurement of cleaning supplies.
  • Address resident requests and serve as the primary contact for inquiries, coordinating with external vendors as necessary.
  • Act as the liaison for outside service providers (HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing, Fire Safety, etc.), managing calls and obtaining quotes for necessary work.
  • Participate as a member of the Joint Health and Safety Committee, conducting monthly meetings and safety evaluations.
  • Coordinate compliance-related tasks, including scheduling vendors for fire safety inspections and kitchen hood cleaning.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Covid-19 vaccination is mandatory.
  • Experience in maintenance roles or related fields (renovations, trades, management) is preferred.
  • Proficient in painting, cleaning, and minor repair tasks.
  • Housekeeping experience is advantageous.
  • Experience in scheduling and budgeting for team members is a plus.
  • Completion of Fire Safety Training or Joint Health and Safety Committee Training is beneficial.
  • Possession of a Class G/Class 5 driver's license with a clean driving record is required.
  • Current CPR and First Aid Certification is necessary.
  • Certification in general maintenance is an asset.

All candidates must be legally eligible to work in Canada. A Criminal Record Search, which may include a vulnerable sector screening, will be required as part of the employment process.
