About the Role

BBA Consultants is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineering Lead to support our continued growth in Western Canada. As a key member of our mechanical engineering team, you will play a crucial role in all phases of engineering projects, from front-end studies to field implementation, with a focus on detailed engineering.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop mechanical scopes of work, budgets, and proposals.
  • Perform high-level engineering on major mechanical packages, including crushing and grinding circuits, flotation circuits, leaching circuits, and dewatering.
  • Lead mechanical scope on conceptual design studies, pre-feasibility studies, feasibility studies, and detailed engineering.
  • Be a key team member for small to major brownfield/greenfield mining projects.
  • Participate in site visits, inspections, condition assessments, commissioning, and testing.
  • Provide mentorship and coaching of junior/intermediate engineers, actively sharing knowledge and supporting the enhancement of skills within the team.
  • Foster a culture of having fun at work while producing high-quality professional deliverables.
  • Process plant layout design oversight: Strong asset.

Requirements

  • Proven track record with strong technical skills as a Mechanical Engineer on mineral process plant projects.
  • Experience in base and precious metals: asset.
  • Ability to interpret PFD's and process design criteria from process engineering, oversee plant layouts, mechanical equipment selection, technical bid evaluation and validation, and pump sizing.
  • University degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • 12+ years of relevant engineering experience in the mining sector with a preference for 5+ years in consulting.
  • Must be a registered engineer in Canada.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Available for site work and short-term assignments.
