Job Summary

Abstract Developments is seeking a highly experienced Senior Construction Manager to lead our construction projects from start to finish. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring that our projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Project Management
    • Develop and implement project plans, including timelines, budgets, and resource allocation.
    • Coordinate with cross-functional teams, including sales, development, and construction teams.
    • Monitor and report on project progress, identifying and mitigating potential risks and issues.
  • Construction Oversight
    • Oversee the construction process, ensuring that all work is completed to the required quality and safety standards.
    • Manage and coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers, and vendors.
    • Ensure compliance with all relevant building codes, regulations, and company policies.
  • Leadership and Development
    • Lead and mentor a team of project coordinators and other construction professionals.
    • Develop and implement training programs to enhance the skills and knowledge of the construction team.
    • Identify and recommend opportunities for process improvements and cost savings.
Requirements
  • Experience
    • Minimum 10 years of experience in construction project management, with a minimum of 5 years in multifamily construction.
    • Proven track record of delivering projects on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
  • Education and Qualifications
    • Minimum high school diploma; post-secondary education in a related field preferred.
    • P.Eng, PMP, E.I.T. and/or GSC considered an asset.
  • Skills and Attributes
    • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
    • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, with a combined scope of at least $50M.
    • Highly organized, with effective time management and prioritization skills.
    • Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, including clients, consultants, and subcontractors.
