Director of Sustainability

Odgers Berndtson is proud to partner with Food, Health & Consumer Products Canada (FHCP) in their search for a Director of Sustainability. This is an exceptional opportunity for a seasoned professional to join a leading industry association and contribute to shaping public policy and industry actions for the benefit of Canadians.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the development and implementation of FHCP's sustainability strategy, aligning with the organization's mission and goals.
- Collaborate with members and industry partners to inform policy and best practices on Extended Producer Responsibility, emissions reduction, data collection, and reporting.
- Provide strategic guidance on regulatory affairs and sustainability, ensuring the organization remains competitive in a rapidly changing environment.
- Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including government officials, industry leaders, and environmental organizations.
- Stay up-to-date with emerging trends and technologies in sustainability and regulatory affairs, applying this knowledge to drive business growth and environmental stewardship.
- Post-secondary degree in a relevant field, such as sustainability, environmental science, or business administration.
- 10 years of experience in regulatory affairs, sustainability, or ESG, with a strong background in emissions reduction, circular economy, and EPR.
- Proven track record of success in leading teams and driving business growth through sustainability initiatives.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Bilingualism in both official languages is considered an asset.
