Position Overview
The Relationship Manager plays a crucial role in nurturing and expanding a portfolio of business clients within our targeted market segment. This position emphasizes managing existing business relationships while actively pursuing new client acquisition, enhancing current partnerships, and ensuring client satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive segment growth by implementing our strategic initiatives, focusing on key performance indicators such as new business relationships, deposit growth, loan production, and treasury management fee income.
- Build and sustain a robust network of business contacts, community leaders, and referral sources to foster new business opportunities and generate revenue.
- Collaborate closely with Team Leaders, Private Bankers, and Banking Centers to provide exceptional client experiences and identify growth opportunities.
- Prepare and present comprehensive credit proposals for review, working alongside senior leadership and credit teams to negotiate quality loans within established guidelines.
- Maintain operational integrity by adhering to all relevant regulations, policies, and procedures.
Qualifications
- A minimum of 7 years of experience in relationship management or sales, with at least 5 years focused on developing and managing business relationships.
- In-depth knowledge of credit, financial analysis, and lending policies, with the ability to effectively package and present credit opportunities.
- Demonstrated success in business development, commercial loan origination, and relationship management.
Education and Skills
- Preferred candidates will hold advanced degrees (Associates, Bachelor's, and/or Master's), though a High School diploma or GED is required. Relevant coursework and extensive professional experience may also be considered.
- Proven skills in relationship management, with a track record of managing and expanding a sales pipeline and fostering referral relationships.
- Experience in commercial lending, with the ability to analyze and present financing opportunities to senior leadership.
- Strong understanding of business banking, branch profitability, commercial lending, and treasury management products.
- Exceptional business development skills with an entrepreneurial mindset.
