The Office of the Librarian offers strategic support and services to senior management and the organization in various domains, including corporate communications and the management of digital content. We are currently seeking candidates for the position of Publishing and Quality Control Specialist.

The Publishing and Quality Control Specialist will be responsible for delivering professional and timely publishing and quality assurance services to content owners, enabling the production of high-quality documents intended for various audiences.

Responsibilities:

  • Execute desktop publishing tasks utilizing Microsoft Word, focusing on word processing and formatting functionalities.

Qualifications:

  • A diploma from a recognized post-secondary institution.
  • Extensive experience with Microsoft Office 2013 or 2016, including proficiency in Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.

Candidates should possess:

  • Proven experience in desktop publishing and formatting functions, ensuring the delivery of high-quality professional services.
  • Proficiency in proofreading documents in both official languages, focusing on accuracy and grammar.
  • Experience in a fast-paced production environment with shifting priorities, emphasizing teamwork to provide timely and responsive service.

Assets:

  • Familiarity with document management practices and corporate electronic document and records management systems.

Position Requirements:

  • Availability to work the designated schedule for Publishing and Quality Control Specialists to ensure service during core hours.
  • Willingness to work overtime during peak periods as needed.

Candidates selected for this process will be required to successfully complete:

  • A second-language evaluation.
  • A pre-employment screening.
