About the Role:

The Reinvestment Area Construction Manager will be accountable for construction execution (project management) of reinvestment projects throughout Eastern Canada. This includes all types of reinvestment projects such as standard (interior) projects, expansions, conditions of rewrite, and condition of sales.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Cultivate and Promote Positive Working Relationships: Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including franchisees, corporate staff, general contractors, architects, vendors, and municipal authorities.
  • Monitor and Control Project Management Process: Coordinate the efforts of others, including Owner/Operators, McOpCo, Contractors, and external Consultants, to ensure the successful execution of reinvestment projects.
  • Ensure Quality Control Standards: Verify that reinvestment projects meet quality control standards, including cost, time, conformity with specifications, and standards.
  • Manage Project Budgets and Schedules: Oversee project budgets, schedules, construction, and project close-out to ensure timely and cost-effective completion.
  • Develop Scopes, Estimates, and Tenders: Create scopes, estimates, and tenders for reinvestment projects, and award contracts to qualified vendors.
  • Manage Change Orders and Deficiencies: Identify and address change orders, deficiencies, and project close-out to ensure successful project completion.
  • Provide Regular Project Reports: Deliver regular project reports and updates to management to ensure transparency and accountability.
  • Site Visits: Conduct site visits for projects within Canada to ensure compliance with quality control standards and project requirements.

Requirements:

  • Experience: Demonstrated experience in construction project management, with a strong background in the Quick-Service-Restaurant (QSR) industry.
  • Collaborative and Communication Skills: Excellent written, oral, interpersonal, and presentation skills to effectively build strong partnerships with management, staff, and external partners.
  • Project Management Experience: Strong organization and multi-tasking skills, with the ability to make critical decisions to drive project success.
  • Technical Skills: Advanced skills in Smartsheet, Excel, and SharePoint/OneDrive.
  • Agility: Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with the ability to adapt to changing priorities and travel within Canada up to 30% of the year.
