Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Finance Assistant to join our team at Kelowna Christian Center Society. This is a temporary onsite position, lasting up to 18 months, working 40 hours per week. The successful candidate will provide administrative support to our Finance Department, ensuring the accurate recording and reconciliation of financial transactions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the offering counts and prepare deposits
  • Process Accounts Payable, including verification of G/L coding and authorization
  • Maintain donor database and contact donors for updated information
  • Reconcile EFT payments to backup documentation
  • Assist with input of financial information, including deposit entries and bank account transfers
  • Record bi-weekly utility invoices and payment batches
  • Record monthly Wire Transfers and Pre-Authorized invoice and payment batches
  • Organize and scan documentation for corporate credit card reconciliations
  • Maintain and file financial documentation
  • Assist with yearly Charitable Tax Receipts
Requirements
  • Demonstrated commitment to KCCS Foundational Beliefs
  • 2-3 years of practical accounting and office experience
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to prioritize workload and manage multiple tasks
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and work independently
  • Flexibility, organization, and attention to detail
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and ability to learn new software
