Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Maintenance Operations Manager to join our team at CP. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient and effective maintenance of our intermodal equipment fleet.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform regular safety audits to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies.
  • Schedule and coordinate maintenance activities for lift equipment, hostlers, and intermodal chassis.
  • Monitor and manage the maintenance and repair of containers and other equipment.
  • Ensure that all maintenance and repair activities are performed in accordance with manufacturer recommendations, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Oversee the completion of PM sheets and ensure that equipment is maintained to OEM standards.
  • Monitor and enforce pre-tripping procedures to ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure that all contractors working on behalf of CP have the necessary qualifications, licenses, and experience to perform their duties.
  • Investigate damage claims and implement measures to prevent future damage.
  • Process and audit maintenance-related invoices.
  • Collaborate with Asset Management and Supply Services to develop asset strategies and RFP proposals.

Requirements

  • Post-secondary certificate or degree in a related field, such as mechanical engineering or maintenance management.
  • Strong mechanical background and experience in maintenance management.
  • Journeyman certification in maintenance of road or off-road equipment is an asset.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in maintenance management, preferably in a supervisory or management role.
  • Understanding of intermodal operations and logistics is an asset.
  • Proficiency in computer software, including Outlook, Word, Excel, MS Access, SAP, Oasis, TMS, and PowerPoint.
  • Familiarity with commercial vehicle inspection regulations and standard maintenance procedures for heavy equipment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
