About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Baker to join our team at COBS Bread The Quarry. As a key member of our bakery team, you will be responsible for preparing and baking a variety of breads, pastries, and other sweet and savory goods.

Key Responsibilities
  • Preparation and Baking: Prepare dough for pies, bread, rolls, and sweet goods, batters for muffins, cookies, and cakes, and icings and frostings according to recipes or special customer orders.
  • Inventory Management: Requisition or order materials, equipment, and supplies as needed.
  • Team Leadership: Train staff in preparation, cooking, and handling of food, and supervise baking personnel and kitchen staff.
  • Quality Control: Ensure that the quality of products meets established standards, and inspect kitchen and food service areas to maintain a clean and safe environment.
  • Customer Service: Prepare dishes for customers with food allergies or intolerances, and oversee sales and merchandising of baked goods.
Requirements
  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a bakery or related field.
  • Physical Demands: Ability to distinguish between colors, attention to detail, fast-paced environment, hand-eye coordination, handling heavy loads, manual dexterity, physically demanding, repetitive tasks, standing for extended periods, tight deadlines, and work under pressure.
  • Personal Qualities: Accurate, client-focused, dependable, excellent oral communication, judgement, reliability, and team player.
