The Technology Service Branch is seeking a proactive individual to ensure the effective functioning, upkeep, and management of the Edmonton Police Service's physical and virtual infrastructure. Key responsibilities include:

  • Overseeing and managing S3 Object storage for backup solutions and enterprise digital assets.
  • Administration and troubleshooting of Azure AD, Microsoft 365, and Azure services.
  • Monitoring and maintaining Veeam backup solutions.
  • Management of multi-factor authentication and identity access management services.
  • Conducting daily operations and administration of Azure AD, Active Directory, Microsoft Exchange server, vSphere 7.x, vSphere 8.x, Storage Area Networks, and PKI services.
  • Working with VMware ESXi server and vCenter, including physical and virtual server configurations and imaging.
  • Receiving, prioritizing, documenting, and resolving complex infrastructure support requests using diagnostic tools and providing hands-on desktop assistance.
  • Monitoring logs and network traffic for anomalies and implementing corrective actions.
  • Managing virus threats, intrusion attempts, and policy violations related to infrastructure.
  • Performing additional related duties as necessary.
Qualifications
  • Graduation from a recognized Institute of Technology or University program in a relevant field related to Infrastructure administration and analysis, plus one (1) year of experience in the field; or a Post Secondary Diploma in a relevant specialty with two (2) years of experience; or relevant computer certificate programs with a minimum of 700+ instructional hours and four (4) years of experience.
  • Proficiency with supported Windows server operating systems, Active Directory, Azure AD, Microsoft 365, S3 and Object storage, Exchange 2016, Blackberry Enterprise Server, VMware ESXi server 7.x, VMware ESXi server 8.x, HPE storage area networks, and HPE server hardware.
  • Experience with scripting languages such as PowerShell.
  • Familiarity with multi-factor authentication, single sign-on, and identity management standards like SAML and OAuth.
  • Able to quickly gain in-depth knowledge of unfamiliar systems through research and self-directed learning.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, customer service orientation, teamwork, problem-solving, and troubleshooting capabilities.
  • Highly self-motivated with a proven ability to work independently and effectively prioritize tasks in a high-pressure environment.
  • Able to meet the physical demands of the role, including lifting up to 35 kilograms.
  • Possession of a valid Class 5 driver's license.

Work Schedule:
33.75 hours per week, 0800 – 1600 hours, Monday to Friday. Availability for call-out outside of these hours on a rotational basis is required.

Compensation:
$46.14 – $58.15 (Hourly), $3,115.10 – $3, Biweekly), $81,303.00 – $102, Annually). Compensation rates are in accordance with a collective agreement.
