Position Overview

Under the guidance of the Regional Director for Indigenous Health, the Manager of Integration for Indigenous Health will engage with essential stakeholders both within and outside the healthcare system to select and implement strategies grounded in current research and effectiveness literature. This role aims to enhance culturally appropriate services for Indigenous populations.

Short-term Objectives:

  • Engage in Indigenous Health initiatives.
  • Develop partnerships that foster the enhancement of Indigenous health service delivery, workforce development, and education within the healthcare framework.
  • Advance program development within health faculties to bolster health service provision for Indigenous clients and workforce development within the Indigenous community.

Long-term Strategy: This will encompass a comprehensive approach addressing various factors that influence health and wellness opportunities for Indigenous populations, including workforce development, health education, and health services.

Main Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Regional Director for Indigenous Health, the Manager of Integration for Indigenous Health Programs is tasked with executing a regional strategy for Indigenous health integration. This includes overseeing the implementation of regional guidelines in collaboration with other program teams, monitoring program evaluation and quality improvement strategies, and ensuring effective information management in Indigenous healthcare.

Working within the Winnipeg Integrated Services Framework and alongside regional program teams, the Manager of Integration for Indigenous Health will provide leadership in strategic planning, regional coordination, project management, evidence-informed program implementation and evaluation, quality management, information management, and professional development.

Experience Requirements:

  • A minimum of four years of relevant work experience, including at least three years in a leadership management role.
  • Preferred knowledge or experience in clinical areas where Indigenous health services are delivered.
  • A working understanding of the principles of Indigenous healthcare in system development is preferred.

Educational Qualifications:

  • Undergraduate degree in a relevant field from an accredited post-secondary institution.
  • A Master's degree in a related area or a commitment to enroll in a master's program within two years, demonstrating substantial progress towards completion within five years.

Licensure and Registration:

  • Possession of a valid driver's license and access to a vehicle.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Proven knowledge in policy and partnership development.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead projects and manage complex initiatives.
  • Exceptional organizational skills to manage multiple projects and meet established deadlines.
  • Experience in program development, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation.
  • Expertise in assessment, synthesis, and knowledge translation of literature and practices from other jurisdictions.
  • Ability to collect, analyze, and interpret data, along with preparing comprehensive reports.
  • Excellent oral communication skills, including experience in presentations and group facilitation.
  • Ability to build and maintain strong working relationships with a diverse range of individuals and organizations.
  • Experience working with inter-professional teams and multi-sectoral partnerships, including liaising with various levels of government.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Access, Excel, and PowerPoint.
