Position Overview

Reporting to the Regional Director, Indigenous Health, the Indigenous Health Integration Manager will collaborate with key stakeholders within and outside the healthcare system to develop and implement strategies grounded in current research, effectiveness literature, and culturally appropriate practices that support Indigenous peoples.

Short-Term Goals Include:

  • Active participation in Indigenous Health projects.
  • Fostering partnerships to enhance Indigenous health service delivery, workforce development, education, and awareness within the healthcare system.
  • Developing programs within health faculties to support culturally appropriate services for Indigenous clients and foster workforce development within the Indigenous community.

Long-Term Strategy:

The long-term strategy will address a comprehensive range of factors influencing improved health and wellness opportunities for the Indigenous population, encompassing workforce development, health education, and health services.

Main Function:

The Indigenous Health Integration Manager is responsible for implementing a regional Indigenous health integration strategy. This includes overseeing the implementation of regional guidelines in collaboration with program teams, monitoring and evaluating programs, ensuring quality improvement strategies are in place, and managing information effectively within Indigenous healthcare.

Working within the Winnipeg Integrated Services Framework and alongside regional program teams, the Manager will provide leadership in strategic planning, regional coordination, project management, evidence-informed program implementation and evaluation, quality management, information management, and professional development.

Experience:

  • Minimum of four years of relevant work experience with at least three years in a management leadership position is required.
  • Knowledge or experience in one or more clinical areas where Indigenous health services are provided is preferred.
  • A working knowledge applying the principles of Indigenous healthcare to healthcare system development is preferred.

Education:

  • Undergraduate degree in a relevant field from a recognized post-secondary institution.
  • Master's degree in a related area or, a commitment to enroll in a master's degree program within 2 years and demonstrate substantial progress towards completion within 5 years.

Certification/Licensure/Registration:

  • Valid driver's license and access to vehicle.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Demonstrated knowledge in policy and partnership development.
  • Proven ability to provide project leadership and manage complex projects.
  • Superior organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects while meeting established deadlines is required.
  • Demonstrated experience with program development, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation.
  • Experience and skills in assessing, synthesizing, and translating knowledge from literature and practice from other jurisdictions for application to practice.
  • Proven ability to collect, collate, interpret, and analyze data and prepare reports.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
