Job Title: Project Planner - Commissioning

We are seeking a qualified Project Planner – Commissioning to join our team at Bantrel. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning and scheduling commissioning phases for an Energy and Mining & Infrastructure Industries project. This is a full-time permanent role that offers the opportunity to work on the Hatch Bantrel Joint Venture (HBJV) to execute engineering and construction on the BHP Jansen Potash Mine Project in Saskatchewan.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Interface with engineers, procurement specialists, construction supervision, and management to plan and execute the project.
  • Collaborate with the Client Project Management team to provide solutions related to planning and scheduling.
  • Prepare resource-loaded baseline schedules and schedule basis documents.
  • Update and maintain project schedules and progress interfaces.
  • Provide analysis and workarounds to mitigate schedule delays.
  • Work with project controls counterparts to align schedules with estimate, cost, and earned value progress systems.
  • Review potential changes against project scope and execution plans.
  • Provide oversight to junior/intermediate schedulers.
  • Support management of construction-to-commissioning and commissioning-to-operations interfaces.

Requirements:

  • Engineering or Business degree AND/OR relevant qualification in planning/scheduling, project controls, and project management.
  • Minimum 10 years' experience in planning and scheduling.
  • Minimum 4 years' experience in preparation of construction schedules.
  • Relevant experience in cost control and monitoring.
  • Work experience primarily in the Canadian oil, gas, petrochemicals, and mining & infrastructure industries.
  • Knowledge of CPM scheduling concepts.
  • Advanced level of proficiency in Oracle Primavera P6.
  • Strong interpersonal, teamwork, and communication skills.
  • Demonstrated skill in identifying, analyzing, and solving problems.
