About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Addictions Worker to join our team at the Thunder Bay Indigenous Friendship Centre. As an Addictions Worker, you will play a vital role in supporting individuals struggling with addiction and substance abuse.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans to support clients in achieving their recovery goals.
  • Provide counseling and support services to clients, including group and individual sessions.
  • Collaborate with community agencies and healthcare providers to ensure comprehensive care for clients.
  • Conduct assessments and evaluations to identify client needs and develop strategies for support.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with community partners to ensure access to resources and services for clients.
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development to stay current on best practices in addictions treatment.
Requirements
  • Post-secondary education in a related field, such as social work or counseling.
  • Experience working with Indigenous communities and individuals struggling with addiction.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse populations.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
