Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough inspections of vehicles to identify any necessary safety or maintenance tasks.
  • Compile a detailed report on the reverse side of the repair order.
  • Provide estimates for flat rate times for each suggested service, utilizing provided flat-rate manuals and company guidelines.
  • Research parts pricing and availability for each service recommendation.
  • Execute all tasks as specified on the front of the repair order and as authorized on the back, ensuring efficiency and precision in line with company and manufacturer standards.
  • Procure all necessary parts upon receiving authorization, unless instructed otherwise. Document this action on the repair order.
  • Preserve and label parts if the service falls under warranty or insurance, or if requested by the client.
  • Perform road tests on vehicles after service whenever a wheel is removed or any repair that may impact drivability is conducted (excluding routine oil changes or transmission fluid changes).
  • Guarantee that all work completed is meticulous, precise, and finished promptly.
  • Oversee the work of apprentice technicians or students; promptly report any issues to the Service Manager.
  • Participate in factory-sponsored training sessions as scheduled by management.
  • Engage in dealer-specific training courses as scheduled by management.
  • Stay updated on all factory technical bulletins.
  • Learn and adapt to all current and emerging technologies relevant to automotive service.
  • Maintain a high level of focus to avoid repeat repairs.
  • Ensure that customer vehicles are returned in a condition equal to or better than their arrival, both inside and out.
  • Keep the workshop area organized and tidy at all times.
  • Clean workspaces at the end of each shift.
  • Dispose of waste, recycling, etc., as necessary.
  • Comprehend and adhere to federal, provincial, and local regulations regarding hazardous waste disposal.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications:

  • Fully licensed Automotive Service Technician (310S or higher).
  • One to three years of experience in automotive mechanical operations.
  • Ability to read and understand instructions and information.
  • Licensed Class A Technician is considered an asset.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Strong diagnostic abilities and a commitment to continuous learning.
  • Team-oriented, diligent, with a strong work ethic, punctuality, and a positive demeanor.
