Respiratory Therapist

The Respiratory Therapist plays a vital role in the Cardio-Respiratory Department, providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the team's success. As a Respiratory Therapist, you will be responsible for assessing patients, implementing treatment plans, and evaluating progress. Your expertise will be essential in adapting treatment plans according to patient needs and expected outcomes.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct comprehensive respiratory assessments and develop individualized treatment plans
- Implement and evaluate the effectiveness of respiratory therapy protocols
- Collaborate with healthcare teams to ensure seamless patient care
- Provide education and support to patients and families
- Graduate of an accredited School of Respiratory Therapy and registration with the Nova Scotia College of Respiratory Therapists
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support and Neonatal Resuscitation Program Certification or willingness to obtain
- Current Heart & Stroke BCLS (Level C) Certification
- Member in good standing with the Canadian Society of Respiratory Therapist (CSRT) preferred
- Ability to prioritize, problem-solve, and work under pressure
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
