Respiratory Therapist

We are seeking a highly skilled Respiratory Therapist to join our team at Nova Scotia Health and IWK Health. As a Respiratory Therapist, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the delivery of exceptional healthcare services.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct comprehensive respiratory assessments and develop individualized treatment plans to meet the unique needs of patients.
- Implement and evaluate respiratory therapy interventions, including oxygen therapy, ventilation, and aerosol therapy.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to provide patient-centered care and achieve optimal patient outcomes.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of policies and procedures related to respiratory care.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in respiratory therapy and apply evidence-based practices to patient care.
- Graduate of an accredited School of Respiratory Therapy and registered with the Nova Scotia College of Respiratory Therapists.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support and Neonatal Resuscitation Program Certified or willingness to obtain.
- Current Heart & Stroke BCLS (Level C) Certification.
- Member in good standing with the Canadian Society of Respiratory Therapist (CSRT) preferred.
- Successful completion of hospital-based certification and recertification procedures are mandatory for continued employment.
- Ability to prioritize, problem-solve, and work under pressure of time limitations.
- Demonstrated interpersonal and communication skills; must be an effective team player.
- Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred.
- A competitive salary range of $29.66 - $40.66 hourly.
