At Health Careers in Saskatchewan, we are seeking a skilled Prosthetics & Orthotics Technician to join our team.

Job Summary

We are looking for a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to fabricate and repair artificial limbs and braces (prostheses or orthoses) to provide maximum fit, function, appearance, and workmanship.

Key Responsibilities
  • Fabricate and repair artificial limbs and braces (prostheses or orthoses) to provide maximum fit, function, appearance, and workmanship.
  • Work independently and as part of a team to meet production deadlines and quality standards.
  • Develop and maintain a thorough understanding of prosthetic and orthotic devices, including materials, techniques, and technologies.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure accurate fitting and adjustment of prosthetic and orthotic devices.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry developments, best practices, and regulatory requirements.
Requirements
  • Certified professional (or registered technician) prior to becoming registered.
  • No previous experience. Two (2) years (3450 hours) training/experience working as a Prosthetics & Orthotics Technician under the supervision of an on-site.
  • Orthotic/Prosthetic Technician Program.
  • Registered Technician in Orthotics and/or a Registered Technician in Prosthetics.

Knowledge and Abilities
  • Ability to work independently.
