Role Overview: People & Culture Coordinator

Position Objective

The People and Culture Coordinator is essential in supporting the HR department and the organization by managing various human resources functions, including employee relations, recruitment, compliance, cultural initiatives, and providing backup for payroll and benefits administration. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and possesses strong interpersonal abilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Foster a positive workplace culture by supporting employee engagement initiatives and acting as a resource for employee inquiries, ensuring a harmonious work environment.
  • Advocate for diversity and inclusion initiatives, actively contributing to a diverse and equitable workplace culture.
  • Manage the complete recruitment cycle, including job postings, screening applicants, scheduling interviews, conducting background checks, and facilitating onboarding processes.
  • Provide backup support for payroll and benefits administration, ensuring timely and accurate processing of payroll and addressing any related inquiries.
  • Assist in the development, implementation, and enhancement of HR policies and procedures to ensure compliance with provincial regulations, promoting fairness and consistency throughout the organization.
  • Undertake additional related duties as required.

Qualifications

  • Education:
    • Post-secondary degree, diploma, or certificate in Human Resources or a related field.
    • Progress towards a CPHR designation is an asset.
    • Progress towards a PCP designation is also considered an asset.
  • Experience:
    • 2 to 3 years of relevant experience.
    • At least 1 year of payroll experience.
  • Essential Skills and Competencies:
    • Strong discretion and ability to manage sensitive and confidential information appropriately.
    • Ability to collaborate effectively with various stakeholders, utilizing strong communication skills to achieve positive outcomes.
    • Capable of working independently while also being a valuable team member.
    • Proficient in creative problem-solving and detail-oriented tasks.
    • Adept at managing multiple priorities simultaneously while ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
    • Exemplify professionalism, integrity, and respect in all interactions, adhering to ethical standards and fostering a culture of accountability.

Work Environment

  • Standard working hours are from 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM.
  • This position offers a hybrid work model.

Compensation: Starting salary is competitive.
