Admissions Counselor

Under the guidance of the Director of Admissions, the Admitted Student Advisor plays a pivotal role in ensuring a seamless transition into Adler University. This involves maintaining close communication with admitted students until they matriculate, guaranteeing a smooth process.
Key Responsibilities:- Ensure timely completion of transfer credit process, registration, orientation, and relocation.
- Meet enrollment goals by ensuring students are aware of and meeting enrollment requirements, acting as a liaison between students and student service departments, and assisting with overcoming obstacles to matriculation.
- Maintain accurate student records by entering new and updating current information in the University's CRM in a timely manner.
The Admitted Student Advisor will allocate their time as follows:
- Applicant Engagement: 60%
- Provide proactive outreach to ensure incoming students remain engaged with Adler University.
- Plan and execute new student engagement events to mitigate melt.
- Assign a current student mentor to each prospective student.
- Collaborate with student organizations to welcome incoming students and foster a sense of community and engagement.
- Train students on how to access University systems.
- Assess prospective students for transfer credit and assist with the review process.
- Assist incoming students with selecting and registering first-term classes.
- Follow up with prospective students to ensure orientation is completed in a timely manner.
- Assist with relocation to the Chicago and Vancouver areas.
- Manage admitted student social media outlets and create dynamic content.
- Applicant Records Management: 15%
- Gather outstanding documents needed to start classes.
- Maintain accurate and updated records of student communication and documents.
- Monitor incoming student progress.
- Ensure applicant records are sent to the Registrar in a timely fashion.
- Cross Departmental Collaboration: 15%
- Collaborate with the Registrar's Office and Program Directors to ensure course availability.
- Work with Financial Aid and Student Accounts to ensure student funding is secured.
- Collaborate with all University departments to ensure incoming students understand University policies and resources.
- Other: 10%
- Participate in weekly team meetings and inform conversations related to enrollment trends.
- Maintain an advanced working knowledge of Adler programs, policies, and admissions requirements.
- Develop a professional development plan to remain up to date on industry standards.
- Other duties as assigned.
The ideal candidate will possess:
- Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred.
- 1-3 years of experience in admissions, higher education, or a sales environment.
The Admitted Student Advisor will work in a generally clean and healthy environment, with 80% sitting, 10% walking, and 10% standing.
Expected Salary Range:$45,000 - $55,000 CAD.
