Role: Peer Support Specialist

As a Peer Support Specialist, you will play a vital role in guiding residents towards their goals and fostering a sense of belonging within our supportive housing program. Your personal journey with recovery will be an invaluable asset as you connect with residents on a deeper level.

Responsibilities
  • Provide empathetic support and guidance to residents navigating their recovery process.
  • Facilitate group sessions and activities that promote healing, growth, and connection.
  • Assist residents in developing coping mechanisms and strategies for maintaining sobriety.
  • Collaborate with program staff to ensure a holistic and integrated approach to resident care.
  • Advocate for the needs of residents and promote their well-being within the community.
Qualifications
  • Demonstrated experience in recovery from substance use or mental health challenges.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a compassionate approach to working with others.
  • Ability to build rapport and trust with residents from diverse backgrounds.
  • Excellent communication and active listening skills.
  • Commitment to the principles of recovery and harm reduction.
