Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Early Childhood Educator - Support to join our team at the Halifax Regional Centre for Education (HRCE). As a key member of our Pre-Primary Program, you will play a vital role in creating a nurturing and stimulating environment for our young students.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist the Lead Early Childhood Educator in planning and implementing educational programs that meet the diverse needs of our students.
  • Support the preparation of materials, arrangement of learning centers, and observation of children's activities and progress.
  • Work collaboratively with the Lead Educator to create a safe, respectful, and inclusive learning environment.
  • Act as a member of the school team, working under the direction of the Lead ECE and reporting directly to the Supervisor, Pre-Primary Program.
Requirements
  • Diploma, certificate, or degree in Early Childhood Education from a recognized institution.
  • ECE Level 2 Classification, or ECE Level 1 Classification combined with a minimum of one year experience working with pre-school children in a childcare environment.
  • Recent experience (within the past 5 years) working with pre-school children.
  • Current Certification in First Aid.
  • Training and/or experience in a play-based learning environment is an asset.
