About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and caring Early Childhood Educator Assistant to join our team at Peter Green Hall Children's Centre. As a key member of our staff, you will play a vital role in supporting the daily operations of our childcare centre and ensuring the well-being and development of our young learners.

Key Responsibilities
  • Childcare and Education
    • Assist early childhood educators in planning and implementing programs that promote the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development of children.
    • Bathe, diaper, and feed infants and toddlers, ensuring their basic needs are met.
    • Engage children in activities that promote learning and development, such as storytelling, singing, and crafts.
  • Record Keeping and Communication
    • Assist early childhood educators or supervisors in keeping accurate records of children's progress and development.
    • Submit written observations on children to early childhood educators or supervisors.
    • Participate in staff meetings to discuss children's progress and any concerns.
  • Centre Operations
    • Prepare snacks and arrange rooms or furniture for lunch and rest periods.
    • Ensure the centre is maintained in a clean and safe environment.
  • Security and Safety
    • Ensure the confidentiality and security of children's records and information.
    • Participate in regular security checks and maintain a safe and secure environment for children and staff.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience
    • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
    • 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a childcare setting.
  • Certifications and Licenses
    • Early Childhood Education (ECE) Certificate.
    • First Aid Certificate.
    • CPR Certificate.
  • Personal Qualities
    • Punctuality and dependability.
    • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
    • Flexibility and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Working Conditions

The successful candidate will be required to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, with a focus on providing high-quality care and education to our children. The centre is located in an urban area, and public transportation is available.
