Sherwood Electromotion Inc is a dynamic and growing company seeking a highly skilled and experienced Human Resources Generalist to join our team. As a key member of our HR department, you will play a critical role in supporting the recruitment and onboarding process, as well as providing administrative support to our HR Manager.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct full cycle recruitment process, including sourcing, screening, and placement of candidates for various positions within the company.
  • Partner with hiring managers to identify talent needs, job duties, qualifications, and skills.
  • Execute daily recruiting activities, such as contacting qualified potential candidates and setting up interviews.
  • Identify technically qualified candidates based on capability and fit within the organizational culture.
  • Ensure effective advertising channels are utilized, and monitor advertising performance to meet monthly advertising budget.
  • Close organizational competency gaps through effective advertising, cold calling, and other recruiting methods.
  • Coach managers and provide tools for attracting highly qualified and diverse talent from internal and external sources.
  • Create recruiting procedures to be implemented in HR systems.
  • Partner with employees and management to communicate HR policies, procedures, laws, standards, and government regulations.
  • Respond to employee questions and needs in a timely manner, or work with the HR team to secure timely feedback.
  • Assist in monitoring the performance appraisal process.
  • Conduct new employee orientation training.
  • Maintain HR Information System records and compile reports from the database.
  • Maintain employee personnel files in compliance with applicable legal requirements.
  • Help maintain company organization charts and employee directories.
  • Organize company events, such as barbecues and service awards.
  • Distribute company gifts, uniform vouchers, and other perks to employees as required.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree/Diploma in Human Resources.
  • 2-5 years of progressive working experience as a recruiter in a fast-paced manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • Working knowledge of ATS/Social Media posting is an asset.
  • Knowledge of US employment laws is an asset.
  • Ability to work autonomously.
  • Self-starter and energetic with initiative, professionalism, and sound analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to maintain information in confidence and exercise good judgment.
  • Proficient with MS Office Suite, HRIS, and Applicant Tracking Systems.
  • Ability to be self-managing, show a commitment to a task, strong work ethic, and exceptional attention to details.
  • Excellent communication, prioritizing, and organizational skills.
  • Basic knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning.
  • Ability to work in a demanding fast-paced environment with aggressive timelines.
