As a Senior Project Accountant, your responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting comprehensive analysis and reporting on project or program performance within a structured project control framework.
  • Overseeing the analysis, development, and reporting related to various project control functions, including project baselines, work package agreements, cost management, cost estimation, earned value management (EVM), forecasts, variance assessments, schedules, and technical project evaluations.
  • Utilizing your expertise in project controls to assist the technical project management team in various project management tasks.
  • Acting as the primary liaison for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Collaborating with technical personnel, project leaders, and managers to provide insights that influence critical decisions within the project control scope (work breakdown structure, scheduling, and budget/cost).
  • Employing information management, access control management, configuration management, program integration, and risk management processes to support project teams effectively.
  • Facilitating customer engagements, including organizing and documenting regular reviews, tracking project management deliverables, and presenting project status updates to stakeholders.
  • Preparing, validating, and maintaining cost estimates, detailed baseline budgets, work package agreements, and monthly cost variance reports.
  • Applying earned value management techniques or other methodologies to analyze the relationship between planned work, executed tasks, and actual expenditures.
  • Reviewing project schedules to ensure logical consistency, conducting scenario analyses, and performing critical-path assessments as necessary.
  • Working closely with technical leads and project managers to ensure that risks and opportunities are integrated with project schedules and budgets, ensuring the timely acquisition of quality goods and services.
  • Supervising junior project accountants as required.
  • Performing additional duties as necessary.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting.


Required Qualifications

  • Associate degree in a related field or a combination of education and relevant experience.
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience; an advanced degree may compensate for years of experience.
  • Ability to comprehend the scope of work to effectively develop and monitor schedules, cost plans, and spending plans using various project control tools.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, including grammar, punctuation, proofreading, and spelling.
  • Adaptability and the capacity to prioritize and manage multiple tasks while collaborating with various managers in a dynamic environment.
  • Self-driven, organized, and detail-oriented.
  • Capability to handle confidential information with discretion.
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications, including Word and Outlook.
  • A commitment to actively participating in our employee-owned culture is essential.
