The Global Corporates Rating Group is on the lookout for a dedicated corporate credit analyst to fill the role of Vice President in Toronto. The ideal candidate will oversee corporate credit evaluations within the North American regulated utilities and oil & gas pipeline industries. This role encompasses conducting financial statement assessments, developing financial projections, and preparing materials for rating committees, press releases, and rating documentation. Additionally, the successful candidate will cultivate relationships with issuers and financial institutions as necessary, ensuring the delivery of high-quality and timely topical research. Familiarity with companies in the regulated utilities and oil & gas pipeline sectors will be a significant advantage.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage existing corporate ratings, evaluate creditworthiness, and uphold rating opinions for various issuers in the regulated utilities and oil & gas pipeline sectors.
- Engage in new rating assignments and contribute to their execution.
- Oversee the rating process, including presenting findings to a rating committee.
- Generate timely, high-quality rating reports, research notes, and industry analyses.
- Establish and maintain relationships with issuers, investors, and financial institutions.
- Provide transparent and prompt service to rated issuers, investors, and other market participants.
- Assist in refining research products and credit rating methodologies.
- Provide analytical support for business development initiatives.
Required Qualifications
- Over 10 years of professional experience in credit analysis, financial services, or with companies in the utilities and oil & gas pipeline sectors.
- A university degree in accounting, business, economics, or engineering.
- Strong research, analytical, and modeling capabilities, with meticulous attention to detail.
- Excellent communication (both verbal and written), presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- A self-motivated individual and a collaborative team player, capable of thriving in a fast-paced environment.
