The Team Leader, UX Research is tasked with guiding, mentoring, and developing a team of UX professionals dedicated to user research and analysis for our digital platforms. This role involves overseeing daily operations and supporting long-term performance and career growth. As a vital member of the UX leadership team, the Team Leader will influence the organization’s UX practices by setting standards for research methodologies, enhancing research operations, and advancing UX research as a discipline within Medavie.

This position is part of the Digital Transformation Office, which was created to ensure the effective execution of Medavie's digital strategy.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide daily UX research guidance to team members, including task management, work reviews, and best practice advisement.
  • Support employee growth through performance management, coaching, and career development initiatives.
  • Enhance team effectiveness by evaluating roles and responsibilities, identifying skill gaps, and leading recruitment efforts.
  • Promote a positive employee experience by collecting feedback, driving engagement activities, and fostering team cohesion.
  • Manage team operations to meet corporate and departmental objectives, including planning, task assignment, and progress monitoring.
  • Contribute hands-on to team efforts as needed, including conducting user tests, interviews, and analyzing results.
  • Advance UX research as a discipline within Medavie by establishing standards, optimizing workflows, and advising leadership on research needs.
  • Increase awareness of UX research value across the organization by fostering interdepartmental relationships and advocating for research in strategic initiatives.

Required Qualifications:

Education: University degree in a relevant field.

Experience: Minimum of 5 years in UX research with demonstrated leadership capabilities.

Other Qualifications:

  • In-depth knowledge of UX research methodologies.
  • Experience in resource planning and project management.
  • Strong analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills for priority negotiation and conflict resolution.
  • Passionate about UX, design, technology, and innovation.

Language Skills: Proficiency in English is essential; knowledge of French is an asset.
