We are seeking a full-time Associate focused on Behavioural Science to join our consulting team in Canada. The successful candidate will play a key role in our Behavioural Science practice through delivering consulting and research projects focused on using behavioural science (i.e. behavioural economics, behavioural insights) that contribute to improving policy, programs, and services in the government, healthcare, and not-for-profit sectors. We currently have behavioural science work in a variety of domains, including healthcare, poverty reduction and social services, workplace safety, digital government, and community wellbeing.
This role is intended to be based in Halifax, Canada, although we would consider flexible work arrangements in other locations in Canada.
Responsibilities
The Behavioural Science Associate will:
- Lead and contribute to the application of behavioural science theories and concepts to consulting and research projects focused on improving government policy, programs, and services;
- Conduct a broad range of desk and field research-related activities, including developing research plans and experimental designs; conducting qualitative and quantitative data gathering through interviews, workshops, and surveys; and synthesizing and analyzing data;
- Create deliverables, including research reports and slide decks, to communicate the status, findings, and results of research and consulting work;
- Manage client relationships within project environments;
- Facilitate client workshops and presentations;
- Seamlessly integrate with client and project teams;
- Lead and support the continued development of behavioural science assets and methodologies within the organization;
- Regularly scan behavioural science literature specific to key policy areas to ensure the organization has an up-to-date understanding of leading research and practices;
- Contribute to the creation of proposals to partners, clients, and funders to solidify resources for projects;
- Participate in community involvement activities; and
- Adhere to administrative processes and firm policies such as timesheet reporting, expense tracking, workplace safety, diversity and inclusion efforts, and sustainability practices.
- Candidates should meet the following criteria:
- Master’s degree or PhD in behavioural science, behavioural economics, economics, psychology, or other social science domains;
- Experience applying behavioural science concepts to real-world problems;
- Experience in completing field research, randomized control trials, quasi-experimental research projects, etc;
- Strong statistical capabilities and ability to use statistical software;
- Previous experience in project settings in a services-based or applied research environment;
- Focused on providing exceptional results to clients;
- Possess strong written, verbal and interpersonal skills;
- Possess the ability to remain flexible concerning approaches to delivering solutions;
- Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills;
- Knowledge of the public sector, the social sector, or healthcare would be considered an asset;
- Experience in a consulting or professional services environment would be considered an asset; and
- Ability to currently work in Canada would be considered an asset.
