The Senior Advisor, Communications and External Relations at Medavie Blue Cross plays a crucial role in shaping and executing communication strategies that resonate with our mission and values. This position is essential for enhancing our public relations initiatives, building trust within the community, and making a positive impact.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement comprehensive external communication strategies that align with Medavie Blue Cross's objectives.
  • Oversee community outreach initiatives and assess their effectiveness through detailed reporting.
  • Curate and manage content across various communication platforms, ensuring it is tailored to our diverse audiences.
  • Collaborate with both internal teams and external stakeholders to uphold our brand integrity and produce engaging content.
  • Provide strategic communication guidance to support organizational initiatives and business operations.
  • Design and execute community engagement programs to enhance the organization's reputation.
  • Establish and track key performance indicators for communication efforts.
  • Offer strategic counsel on communications related to organizational changes and innovations.
  • Ensure alignment between internal messaging and external communications.
  • Manage daily communication tasks and assist with crisis communication strategies as necessary.

Qualifications:

  • 7-10 years of experience in strategic communications, with a degree in Communications, Public Relations, or a related field.
  • Proven track record in developing and implementing engagement strategies in dynamic environments.
  • Experience in community relations and providing counsel to senior management.
  • Ability to address sensitive issues with professionalism and discretion.
  • Exceptional written communication skills and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal abilities.
  • Capacity to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
  • Willingness to adapt to flexible working hours and occasional travel.
  • Bilingualism is advantageous but not mandatory.
