Job Summary

Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Finance Operations Manager to join our team in Ottawa, Canada. As a key member of our operations leadership team, you will be responsible for driving financial performance and strategic initiatives across our factory and distribution operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and manage annual budgets and forecasts for Ottawa factory and distribution operations
  • Identify and mitigate business risks to ensure delivery of financial targets
  • Drive effective prioritization and value achievement on investments required to deliver on critical operations strategies and corporate initiatives
  • Lead critical initiatives across multiple functions and locations to improve operations profitability and achieve/outperform AOP goals
  • Provide strategic financial partnership and direction to the operations team, optimizing profit margins and improving customer experience
  • Support development and implementation of outstanding manufacturing strategies that create clear advantage and improve customer experience
  • Lead internal and external audit and develop remediation plans
  • Ensure all finance controllership activities are carried out in compliance with policies and US GAAP
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, or Finance field
  • 5+ years of relevant working experience in manufacturing
  • Strong analytical and data gathering skills, with attention to detail and consistently delivering high-quality work
  • Ability to balance multiple priorities and tight time demands
  • Excellent skills with MS Excel, with HFM and SAP Production experience preferred
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong team building skills and ability to work with a diverse group of people
  • Self-motivated, flexible, and strong work ethic
  • Continuous Improvement approach, with ability to identify process and control gaps and champion improvement initiatives
