Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Psychologist to join our team at Fraser Health, providing psychological services to clients with Acquired Brain Injury (ABI).

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide a full range of psychological services to clients with ABI, including assessment, treatment, and rehabilitation.
  • Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to develop and implement comprehensive care plans for clients with ABI.
  • Conduct neurocognitive assessments and provide individual and group treatment interventions for challenging personality traits post-injury.
  • Develop and manage psychological services for the Acquired Brain Injury program, including clinical and administrative expertise on ABI assessment, treatment, and service planning.
  • Consult with colleagues and community professionals on assessment and treatment issues, and lead and coordinate multi-disciplinary service interventions.
  • Participate in team meetings and decision-making processes, and contribute to the development of educational programs on therapeutic and assessment techniques.
  • Initiate and carry out program evaluation, and perform research work for the advancement of psychological issues within the ABI services.
Qualifications
  • Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology, including relevant coursework, training, and clinical supervision in assessment/testing and intervention.
  • Two years' recent related experience in neurocognitive assessment and administration and interpretation of neurocognitive assessments.
  • Experience working with rehabilitation interventions, multidisciplinary teamwork, and individuals with an acquired brain injury within a clinical or supportive setting.
  • Current registration with the College of Psychologists of British Columbia.
Skills and Abilities
  • Demonstrated knowledge of evidence-based ABI rehabilitation.
  • Demonstrated research skills.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of developmental theories, family and social dynamics, treatment and behaviour management modalities, and psychological testing and interpretation.
  • Ability to prepare comprehensive written assessments.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of relevant legislation.
  • Demonstrated sound knowledge of the service delivery systems at the local, regional, and provincial level.
  • Demonstrated ability in implementing policies and procedures.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to deal effectively with others.
  • Ability to plan, organize, and prioritize work.
  • Ability to operate related equipment.
  • Physical ability to perform the duties of the position.
