Job Description

Job Title: Pediatric Occupational Therapist

Job Type: Part-time

Location: In-person

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Pediatric Occupational Therapist to join our team at Community Therapists. As a Pediatric Occupational Therapist, you will work with a diverse group of funders, including government agencies, schools, and parents, to provide home, school, and community-based rehabilitation services for children with autism, brain injuries, and other developmental concerns.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct community-based assessments and implement treatment plans to address one or more of ADLs, fine motor skills, gross motor skills, visual perception, and other functional areas.
  • Work with a diverse group of funders, including MCFD, CBIPCY, schools, and parents, to provide home, school, and community-based rehabilitation services.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans to meet the unique needs of each child.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, including psychologists, speech therapists, and physical therapists, to provide comprehensive care.
  • Provide education and support to parents and caregivers on how to support their child's development and rehabilitation.

Requirements:

  • Current membership with the College of Occupational Therapists of British Columbia (COTBC) or eligibility for registration.
  • Minimum 1 year of pediatric OT work experience.
  • 2 years of overall clinical work experience preferred.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Reliable vehicle for clinical appointments.
