Are you a dedicated Laboratory Technologist eager to utilize your expertise in a progressive and supportive setting? We have an exciting opportunity for you to contribute your strong work ethic to our Laboratory department.


Reporting to the Lead Medical Technologist, you will perform laboratory testing procedures and associated responsibilities.

Work Schedule: Rotating shifts, including Days and Nights - 07:00 to 19:00, 19:00 to 07:00

New Compensation :
The updated wage is: $45.81/hour

Fort St. John Hospital and Health Centre is equipped with 44 Acute Care beds and 124 residential beds, handling approximately 22,000 ER visits annually.

Highlights of the hospital include:

  • Endoscopy suite, two advanced operating rooms, and a procedure room
  • Ambulatory clinics, including Cancer and Hemodialysis services
  • Medical and Surgical inpatient accommodations (40 beds)
  • Three Intensive Care Units
  • Minor surgical procedures
  • Seven single Maternity rooms for Labour, Delivery, and Post-Partum care
  • Health Unit and Primary Care Clinic serving the community.
Fort St. John is recognized as "The Energetic City," reflecting its rich resource base in oil, natural gas, forestry, and agriculture. Overlooking the Peace River, this vibrant town serves as the capital of the Peace River district, with a population exceeding 21,400 and servicing an area of around 70,000. Qualifications

  • Graduate from an accredited Medical Laboratory Technology program.
  • Must hold a General Certificate.
  • Must be eligible for membership with the Canadian Society of Laboratory Technologists.
Skills and Competencies:

  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to interact positively with others.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Proficient in operating relevant equipment.
  • Physical capability to perform the duties of the position.
