Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Laboratory Technologist II to join our team at Fort St. John Hospital and Health Centre. As a key member of our laboratory department, you will be responsible for carrying out laboratory testing procedures and related duties.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform laboratory testing procedures and related duties under the supervision of the Chief Technologist.
  • Operate and maintain laboratory equipment, including automated analyzers and microscopes.
  • Conduct quality control and quality assurance activities to ensure accurate and reliable test results.
  • Collaborate with other laboratory staff to ensure smooth operation of the laboratory.
  • Participate in continuing education and professional development to stay current with new technologies and techniques.
Requirements
  • Graduate from a recognized course in Medical Laboratory Technology.
  • Must possess a General Certificate.
  • Must be eligible for membership with Canadian Society of Laboratory Technologists.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to deal with others effectively.
  • Ability to organize work.
  • Ability to operate related equipment.
  • Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.
