We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Laboratory Technologist II to join our team at Northern Health Authority. As a key member of our laboratory department, you will be responsible for performing laboratory work and related duties in the fields of Biochemistry, Hematology, Blood Bank, and Microbiology.
Key Responsibilities- Perform laboratory tests and procedures to analyze patient samples and provide accurate results
- Operate and maintain laboratory equipment, including microscopes, centrifuges, and automated analyzers
- Conduct quality control and quality assurance activities to ensure accurate and reliable test results
- Collaborate with healthcare teams to provide timely and effective patient care
- Participate in ongoing education and training to stay up-to-date with the latest laboratory techniques and technologies
- Successful completion of an approved course in Medical Technology
- Registration with the British Columbia Society of Laboratory Science (BCSLS)
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work accurately and efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
