We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Education Support Specialist to join our team at Sxoxomic Community School. As a key member of our educational support team, you will provide essential support to students, teachers, and staff to ensure a positive and inclusive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide educational assistance to students in learning activities, working one-on-one and in small groups
  • Assist with school supervision before and after school, during recess and lunch breaks
  • Share information with the student support team to support the design of IEPs, learning activities, and transition plans
  • Work collaboratively with teachers and staff to implement adapted strategies and activities to accommodate individual learner needs and styles
  • Document and report progress notes from observations and one-to-one experiences
Requirements
  • Completion of a recognized Education Assistant course and/or an ECE trained worker
  • Experience and/or training working with groups of children in a school or other educational setting
  • Training and experience with students with challenging behaviors
  • Demonstrated ability to employ effective behavior management techniques
  • Physically capable of performing all duties of the job
