Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly motivated and organized Education Support Specialist to join our team at the York Region District School Board. As an Education Support Specialist, you will provide support to teachers and students in a classroom setting, assisting with various tasks and activities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist teachers with lesson planning, implementation, and assessment
- Provide individualized support to students with diverse needs
- Help maintain a safe and organized classroom environment
- Collaborate with teachers and other support staff to develop and implement strategies to support student learning
- Communicate effectively with teachers, students, and parents to ensure a smooth and successful learning experience
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; post-secondary education in a related field an asset
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information
