Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Funeral Director to join our team at Park Lawn Corporation. As a Funeral Director, you will be responsible for providing exceptional service to client families, ensuring that their end-of-life memorialization expectations are met.

Key Responsibilities
  • Consult with client families to create personalized funeral services that meet their needs and preferences.
  • Coordinate all aspects of funeral services, including visitations, ceremonies, and burials.
  • Ensure that client families are presented with all available merchandise and service options.
  • Obtain necessary information for required documents, such as obituaries, death certificates, and burial permits.
  • Plan, schedule, and conduct visitations and services.
  • Supervise and assist employees participating in services, ensuring they understand their roles and are representing the location professionally.
  • Prepare the deceased for viewing, including dressing and casketing.
  • Direct and usher families and attendees to and from the funeral service location.
  • Supervise and assist in the transportation of client families.
  • Arrange and coordinate the shipment of remains to and from other cities and locations.
  • Instruct and oversee the work of Apprentice Funeral Directors on services and paperwork.
Requirements
  • Active Funeral Director's license in good standing.
  • Valid driver's license and clean driver's abstract.
  • Exceptional active listening, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficient in MS Office and funeral software.
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English fluently.
  • High degree of overall computer proficiency.
  • Ability to effectively present information to client families, coworkers, and leadership.
Working Conditions

This position requires regular exposure to chemicals and/or blood-borne pathogens. Employees must be able to drive a company vehicle and maintain a good driving record. Overtime may be necessary or required.

Travel

This position may require up to 10% out-of-area and overnight travel.
