Position Overview

In alignment with the Vision, Purpose, and Values of Island Health - Vancouver Island Health Authority, the safety of patients is a fundamental commitment shared by all personnel. Continuous enhancement of quality and safety is an essential aspect of this role.

As an integral member of a diverse healthcare team, the Community Health Worker delivers personal care support and assistance to clients and their families/caregivers, aiming to foster and enhance independence within the home environment. This includes aiding with daily living activities and performing delegated responsibilities as outlined in established care plans.

Travel may be necessary for this role. Transportation arrangements must comply with the operational needs of Island Health - Vancouver Island Health Authority, which may involve the use of a personal vehicle and requires a valid BC Driver's License.

Qualifications: Education, Training, and Experience

A certificate in Home Support/Resident Care Attendant/Health Care Assistance from a recognized post-secondary institution, or a comparable combination of education, training, and experience. A Food Safe Certificate and a valid BC driver's license are also required.

Current registration and good standing with the BC Care Aide & Community Health Worker Registry are mandatory.
