About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Medical Imaging Specialist to join our team at the University Health Network. As a key member of our Breast Imaging Division, you will play a critical role in delivering high-quality patient care and contributing to the advancement of medical imaging technology.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform high-quality Breast Imaging procedures using digital equipment in a fast-paced and evolving environment
  • Conduct digital quality assurance to meet mammography accreditation standards
  • Screen and diagnose mammography cases
  • Perform breast interventional procedures
  • Communicate effectively with patients and team members
  • Participate in ongoing education and training to meet CAR and hospital requirements
  • Contribute to teaching and mentoring of new staff and students
  • Rotate to other Breast Imaging corporate sites and work overtime as required
Requirements
  • Current registration with the CMRTO and completion of annual required continuing education
  • Current membership with the CAMRT
  • Previous Breast Imaging experience with successful completion of Mammography 1 and 2 certificates from CAMRT
  • Completed over 15 hours of continuing education in Mammography within the past 3 years and commitment to ongoing education
  • Completion of a BCLS program within the past 12 months or current Level II: Basic Rescuer certification
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and communicate respectfully with patients and colleagues
  • Strong technical skills, multi-tasking, and good judgment to ensure work is performed safely and efficiently
  • Ability to evaluate quality of work and use feedback to self-improve
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including accurate clinical documentation
  • Ability to learn new skills, adapt to process changes, and participate in teaching and mentoring
  • Demonstrated satisfactory work performance and attendance history
  • Effective computer skills and ability to review emails daily to maintain department and hospital communication
  • Demonstrated knowledge/experience in Digital Mammography and Digital equipment quality control, preferred
  • Previous working experience at an OBSP Facility and experience in performing OBSP digital quality control, preferred
  • Previous working experience at a CAR Mammography Accredited Facility and a CAR Mammography approved member, preferred
  • Previous breast ultrasound experience with DMS registration, preferred
