Role Summary
As a key member of the Breast Imaging Division, you will conduct a variety of Breast Imaging procedures. Our division is recognized as a Mammography Accredited Centre and an Ontario Breast Screening Program site. You will collaborate closely with the Corporate Breast Imaging Charge Technologist and adhere to institutional policies and protocols.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute high-quality Breast Imaging procedures utilizing advanced digital technology in a dynamic environment.
- Ensure compliance with digital quality assurance standards for mammography accreditation.
- Conduct screening and diagnostic mammography.
- Perform breast interventional procedures.
- Maintain respectful communication with patients and colleagues.
- Commit to ongoing education to meet professional standards.
- Engage in teaching and related duties as necessary.
- Potentially rotate to other Breast Imaging sites and work overtime as required.
Required Qualifications
- Current registration with the CMRTO and completion of annual continuing education requirements.
- Active membership with the CAMRT.
- Previous experience in Breast Imaging with successful completion of Mammography 1 and 2 certificates.
- At least 15 hours of continuing education in Mammography within the last three years.
- Completion of a BCLS program within the past year or current Level II: Basic Rescuer certification.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
- Demonstrated technical proficiency and ability to manage multiple tasks while ensuring patient safety.
- Capacity to adapt to a fast-paced, high-volume setting while maintaining excellent image quality.
- Ability to self-evaluate work quality and utilize feedback for improvement.
- Proficient in written and verbal communication, including accurate clinical documentation.
- Willingness to learn new skills and assist in training new staff and students.
- Proven satisfactory work performance and attendance history.
- Competent computer skills, with regular email communication.
- Preferred experience in Digital Mammography and quality control.
- Previous work experience at an OBSP Facility and CAR Mammography Accredited Facility is advantageous.
- Experience in breast ultrasound with DMS registration is a plus.
