Our department uniquely performs advanced Contrast-Enhanced Mammography (CEM) and other complex breast imaging procedures such as stereotactic biopsies, core biopsies, and breast seed localizations.

About the Medical Imaging Department

As part of the Joint Department of Medical Imaging, Sinai Health's Medical Imaging Department offers a cutting-edge environment for leading clinical practice, education, and research initiatives.

In this role, you will:

  • Conduct high-quality breast imaging procedures using digital technology in a dynamic and evolving environment.
  • Perform screening and diagnostic mammography and ultrasounds, along with breast interventional procedures.
  • Ensure continuous digital quality assurance that adheres to mammography accreditation standards.
  • Exhibit respectful and effective communication with patients, caregivers, and team members.
  • Commit to ongoing education that meets the requirements of the Canadian Association of Radiologists (CAR) and hospital standards.
  • Engage in teaching and perform duties related to the job classification as required.

Job Requirements:

Mandatory:

  • Current registration and good standing with the College of Medical Radiation and Imaging Technologists of Ontario (CMRITO) and fulfillment of annual quality assurance requirements.
  • Successful completion of Mammography 1 and 2 certificates from the Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists (CAMRT).
  • Completion of over 15 hours of continuing education in Mammography within the past 3 years and a commitment to ongoing education that meets CAR and hospital standards.
  • Completion of a Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) program within the past 12 months or current Level II: Basic Rescuer Certification.
  • Previous experience in Breast Imaging, demonstrating knowledge and expertise in digital radiography.

Preferred:

  • Current membership with the CAMRT.
  • Previous experience in breast ultrasound.
  • Experience at an Ontario Breast Screening Program (OBSP) Facility, including OBSP digital quality control.
  • Experience at a CAR Mammography Accredited Facility and being a CAR Mammography approved member.

Skills and Knowledge:

  • Proven ability to prioritize and communicate respectfully within a supportive team environment.
  • Demonstrate strong technical skills, multitasking ability, and sound judgment to ensure work is performed in the best interest and safety of patients and the team.
  • Ability to work accurately, safely, and efficiently in a busy, high patient volume setting; flexible and adaptable to unexpected situations while maintaining excellent image quality.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including relevant and accurate clinical documentation.
  • Proven ability to learn new skills, adapt to process changes, and participate in training new staff and students.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook for efficient email management and maintaining departmental communication.
